Inbound Orientation |
When the Inbounds first arrive Taiwan, they usually feel excited yet a bit nervous about the upcoming year. "Will I fit in ? Will I be able to make new friends quickly? What are the things that I can or cannot do? " As ROTEX members, we all have been there! Through the inbound orientation, we prepared interesting short plays about the 4D rules, the family life, and the school life, in hope to teach the inbounds about the situation they might encounter and the rules they must follow to have a successful exchange year. |

Outbound Orientation |
We all had wondered a lot about how to be good foreign exchange students before we went there ourselves. Facing the upcoming year of uncertainty, we were filled with questions like "what kind of gifts should I bring? What are the specialties of Taiwan that I can show to the foreign friends?" Thanks to the outbound orientations in Taiwan, these no longer troubled us. Indeed, you will receive lessons on international etiquette, tea ceremony, 4D rules, etc. ROTEX also plays a special role in the orientations. We take part in all of them and hold Q&A time for the outbounds and families, giving the most practical advices and ease their anxiety. Talking and sharing are what we do best!

Chinese Speech Contest and Christmas Party |
After three months, all the inbounds have fully experienced many aspects of living in Taiwan. We all know learning the local language is very crucial in adapting to the culture. Thus we hold a Chinese speech contest (usually in December) to see how well they do! Many of them did a impressive jobs, while few still struggled with the tone and complicity of Chinese. Nevertheless, all inbounds had done their best and demonstrated the spirit of YEP. The Christmas Party usually follows right after the speech contest, planned and prepared by ROTEX. We hope to build deeper friendship with the inbounds, so that if they need any assistance, they'll come to us. Through interesting game, loads of food, and good conversations, we feel closer to each other. |
